Rower Swarn finishes 16th

LONDON, Aug 3:
Indian rower Swarn Singh Virk ended his London Olympics campaign at the 16th place after finishing fourth in a minor placings race in the men’s single sculls event here today.
Swarn clocked 7:29.66secs in the six-rower 13th to 18th position race at the Eton Dorney Rowing Centre here. He was second at the end of the 500m mark but lost steam after that to end the 2-km race at fourth.
In the men’s lightweight double sculls, Sandeep Kumar and Manjeet Singh will compete against the Egyptian team of Mohamed Nofel and Omar Emira tomorrow to decide who takes the wooden spoon in the event. (PTI)
