Royal CC outplays GDC Poonch by 11 runs

POONCH, Feb 10: Royal Cricket Club got the better of Government Degree College (GDC) Poonch by a narrow margin of 11 runs in the ongoing T20 Cricket Tournament, being played at Degree College ground, here.
Earlier, batting first, Royal Cricket Club scored 131 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Salman was top scorer with 36 runs, while Nazarat and Waqar scored 33 and 29 runs respectively. For GDC Poonch, Riaz was the leading wicket taker with 3 wickets.
Chasing the modest total of 131 runs, batsmen of GDC had no answer to the disciplined bowling of Royal Cricket Club bowlers and fell short by 11 runs. Zahid Ali and Gorav Sharma showed some resistance with 36 and 33 runs respectively. Altaf and Irfan took 3 wickets each for Royal Cricket Club Poonch.
Dr Zakir Malik was the chief guest on the occasion, while DySP Khalid Ameen, DySP Sheezan Bhatt and DySP Sagra Singh and Davinder Singh were also present.
