BANI (Kathua), July 25: Royals Sports Club lifted Mahroom Mudasar Hussain Malik Cricket tournament title by defeating Sartingal Bhaderwah, organised by Royals Club at Sports Ground Sarthal in memory of Mudasar Hussain Malik, here today.
BDC Chairman Babu Din was the chief guest while Dr Rameshwar Singh, Zonal Medical Officer Koti Chandyar was the special guest of the valedictory function wherein about 20 teams participated.
While appreciating the budding players, the chief guest encouraged the players to accord focused attention to their game and work hard towards bringing laurels for J&K. “Discipline, devotion and commitment are the hallmarks of a true sportsperson which can take them towards the highest echelons of the sports world,” he said.
Dr Rameshwar Singh congratulated organizers for conducting such events which boost the morale of youth. Calling upon the youth to actively participate in sports activities, Dr Rameshwar said that sports activities keep our physique fit and strong.
He said that the youth of these hilly areas have ample talent in sports and there is need to channelize their talent in the right direction by providing them with an appropriate platform, adding that organizing such events in the area is an initiative in this regard. He advised youth to take part in sports and stay away from drugs.
Dr Rameshwar also appealed to the Lt Governor to provide adequate sports infrastructure to the youth of hilly areas. He also appealed to the Government to provide better road and mobile network connectivity in the area.
The committee members of Royal Sports Club Bani comprising Muzafer Hussain Malik (President), Sadam Aftab Khan (Vice President), Bisma Malik (MD), Atiq Ur Rehman, Sadam Malik, Wasim Akram, Shakil Khan, Zahid Ahmed, Asif Butt, Touseef Butt, Nawaz Ahmed and Ehsan Butt were present on the occasion.
