RPA felicitates newly appointed VC of PAB

JAMMU, Sept 13: Rashtriya Pahari Andolan (RPA) in an impressive function held here today at Press Club, Jammu felicitated the newly appointed Vice Chairman (VC) of Pahari Advisory Board (PAB), Kuldeep Raj Gupta.
The function started with presentation of bouquet and a memento as a token of respect, love and hope that the newly appointed Vice Chairman shall work for the upliftment of Pahari speaking people and shall redress their genuine demands.
Speaking on the occasion, Kuldeep Raj Gupta assured that in the days to come he will work tirelessly and with full honesty for fulfilling the long pending genuine demands of the Pahari people. Working for the uprising of Pahari ethnicity and preserving the pahari culture, tradition and literature will be his priority, he said.
Gupta further stressed that in order to channelize the energy of youth for attaining the Pahari status and to ensure the free and fair distribution of pahari scholarship to the poor and real beneficiaries he will make the board as people friendly.
Further, he very categorically said that those persons who had their hands in the pahari scholarship embezzlement shall not be spared. I shall take up the issue with the State Government and shall try to punish all those corrupt officials who have misused their powers.
Earlier, Vikrant Sharma, RPA president put forth the demands of Pahari youth and organizations viz. establishment of Pahari Hostel for girls in Jammu, establishment of library having Pahari literature, establishment of Pahari Research Centre in Jammu University, quota in hostels of all the universities and colleges for the Pahari speaking students.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr Suresh Kumar. Prominent among others who spoke on the occasion include Nitan Sharma, Nadeem Mir, Sohail Malik, Shafiq Ahmad, Shahnawaz Khaki and Rahoof Khan.
Chandra Mohan, cashier, Bhartiya Janta party and Rajinder Gupta, former Chairman, Municipal Council, Rajouri, made their special presence in the function.
