JAMMU, June 7: Rashtriya Rifles Battalion based at LKG, under Romeo Force, presented sports kits to the students to Government Higher Secondary Schools, Salani and Kasbalari in district Poonch, today.
Cricket kits, footballs, volleyballs alongwith nets, badminton rackets and skipping ropes were distributed amongst the school going children in presence of the school staff, parents and villagers.
Teachers and parents of the students present on the occasion said that such initiatives by the Indian Army have a very positive influence on the children of these remote areas.
Haji Abdul Karim, Naib Sarpanch of Salani said that such gestures by the Indian Army are very touching and encouraging.
Mohd Shabbir, Headmaster of Govt Higher Secondary School, Kasbalari said that such projects have strengthened the bond between the locals and the Indian Army.
