Rs 1.16 cr plan approved under ATMA for Doda

DODA, Sept 5: Rs. 1.16 crore plan for the year 2013-14 was approved for Doda district in a meeting of Governing Body of ATMA (Agriculture Technology Management Agency) held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Doda Mr. Mubarak Singh.
Chief Planning Officer Doda, Joginder Katoch, Chief Agriculture Officer Doda, H.K Razdan, Chief Horticulture Officer Doda, Bipan Pandita, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Doda, Dr Tahir, AD Planning Doda Manish Sharma, AD Planning Agriculture Anil Sharma besides other members of the Governing Body also attended the meeting.
While approving the Annual Plan under ATMA for the year 2013-14, DDC laid stress on the expansion and use of latest scientific agro-based technology in rural areas. He impressed upon the officers to mobilize their field functionaries in rural areas to motivate and create awareness among rural population especially farming community so that they shift towards latest technology rather than old conventional agricultural practices. He said that there is a huge scope of development of agriculture and other allied departments in the region.
He asked the officers to provide best and high breed disease resistant variety of seeds to the farming people in the district so that the poor people get enhanced economic benefits.
DDC underlined the need to provide exposure and suitable platform to the farmers so that other farmers get motivated and adopt the latest agro-based technology in the region. He said that exposure and motivational result oriented visits/ tours needs to be organized for the progressive farmers so that they keep themselves abreast with the latest technological advancements in the field of agriculture and other allied sectors.
