JAMMU, Oct 17: Highest ever bid for a vanity registration number was made today in the history of Jammu and Kashmir as the Regional Transport Office Jammu fetched Rs 3.97 lakh for number one of the JK02BH series.
The bid was made by Batra Brothers, who secured the vanity number JK02BH-0001 for their Carola vehicle during an auction of the same by RTO Jammu, here today.
Total eleven parties had applied for this number and nine of them took part in the auction. As the Batra Brothers offered highest bid of Rs 3.97 lakh in addition to the registration fee, the number was allotted to them.
Besides, bid of Rs 51 thousand was made for the number JK02BH-0011 and Rs 20 thousand for JK02BH-0007.
A total amount of Rs 4.84 lakh was earned by the RTO Jammu through today’s auction of vanity numbers. This amount does not include token fee, Registration fee and a fee of Rs 5000 for participation in the auction.
The bid of Rs 3.97 lakh for registration number of a vehicle was highest ever in the history of Jammu and Kashmir where the auction system for vanity numbers was introduced by RTO Jammu a few years ago.
