Rs 34.34 cr sanctioned for electrification of leftover areas in Rajouri: Govt

Jammu, Jan 31: Minister of State for Hajj & Auqaf (Independent charge) and Power Development, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi today informed the Lower House that process has been started to cover leftover un-electrified/ partially electrified habitations in border district of Rajouri.
“An amount of Rs 34.34 crore has been sanctioned under PMDP (rural) for district Rajouri which will cover leftover un-electrified/ partially electrified habitations approved for electrification,” he said.
Replying to a question by Choudhary Qamar Hussain, the Minister also informed that procurement of material for electrification of three villages namely Kochalwal, Narlah and Bambel in Budhal block is under process. He said these villages are being covered under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY).
The Minister further informed that the 400 KV Transmission Line from Jallandhar to Amargarh passing through Rajouri is being constructed through a private company and the contract has been awarded to it by Union Ministry of Power.
He also informed that State Power Development Department (PDD) has submitted a proposal to Central Electricity Authority (CEA) for setting up 2X315 MVA, 400/132 KV Grid of under construction D/C 400 KV Jallandhar-Amargarh transmission line in Rajouri area.
He also said that there is no proposal for construction of Grid station at Dodassan Balla.
Legislatures Abdul Rahim Rather and Yawar Mir also raised supplementary questions.
