JAMMU, Sept 26: R S Pura Zone lifted U-17 Boys Volleyball title trophy while Khour Zone bagged U-19 Boys trophy in Inter-Zonal District Level (IZDL) tournament organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Khel Gaon Nagrota, here today.
The final match of U-17 Volleyball Boys category was played between R S Pura and Akhnoor wherein Akhnoor emerged as winner against the opponent by 2-0 sets. Anshu Chib, Anush Chib and Mannat gave their best during the final match for R S Pura.
The final match of U-19 Volleyball Boys category was played between Khour Zone and Zone Arnia in which Khour defeated Arnia by 2-0 sets. Rohit & Vipin of Zone Khour performed very well during the match.
In Cricket U-19 Boys, Dansal Zone beat Bhalwal by 42 runs. Batting first Dansal made 103 runs by losing three wickets in stipulated 10 overs. Gourav scored 54 runs while Sourav made 25 runs. Mohd Arif clinched two wickets for Bhalwal.
While chasing the target set by Dansal, the Bhalwal Zone bundled out on 80/7 in 10 overs. Sourav Singh made 25 and Tejas scored 14 runs. Shubham Singh took 3 wickets and Shiva bagged 2 wickets for Dansal.
In the second match of the same category Jammu Zone trounced Akhnoor Zone by 9 wickets. Batting first, Akhnoor Zone scored 79 runs in stipulated overs. Abhinandan made 38 runs. For Jammu, Mohd Tufail got 3 wickets and Druv Gupta clinched 1 wicket.
In reply, Jammu made 80 runs by losing only two wickets. Rohan Gill scored 35 runs and Shurya made 18 runs. Abhinandan got only 1 wicket for Akhnoor.
All the matches were officiated by panel of experts of DYSS Jammu.
