RSS celebrates Foundation Day

JAMMU, Oct 13: Various programmes and functions were organised by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in connection with its 88th Foundation Day today.
On the occasion traditional Shastar Poojan was performed and path Sanchalan (full dress route march) was taken out by RSS activists at Bhaderwah to mark the celebration of the day. March was taken out by the activists of the Sangh Ashwani Ji Seh Prant Karyahak was the chief guest on the occasion who also participated in Shastar Poojan at Geeta Bhawan Bhaderwah.
Later the route march by RSS volunteers also started from there and it after passing via larksome Aryan Chowk, Link road, Seri Bazaar, Jai Road, Sartingal Road and culminated at Geeta Bhawan Bhaderwah.
Speaking on the occasion Ashwani Kumar said that the founder chief of RSS Dr Hedgevar had laid the foundation of Sangh on the Dussehra at Nagpur in 1925 to unite Hindus all over globe. He said Sangh since then has performed a vital role in strengthening unity and integrity of the nation, promoting brotherhood and also fighting casteism.
Stressing on strengthening Shakhas (RSS drill) he said the Swayamsevaks have more responsibility on their shoulders at present as country is facing more challenges today than it was facing during pre -independence or post independence days.
On the occasion of Vijay Dashmi a grand function was held by RSS at Reasi also. A Padsanchalan was taken in the town by Sangh activists from RSS office Reasi which after passing through various markets concluded at Ramlila Ground.
