KATHUA, Apr 24: A team of RTO office Kathua conducted a day long checking on National Highway and imposed a fine of Rs 4,41,500 on violators of Motor Vehicle Act.
A team headed by ARTO Kathua Indu Jamwal laid nakas at different places and held extensive checking of vehicles plying on National Highway.
During the checking, about 150 vehicles were compounded by inspecting team and an amount of Rs 3,86,500 was realised as compounded money. Besides, the team also challaned 19 vehicles for the violations such as, Violation of route permit, overloading, token tax, fitness, deficiency of documents and violations of other provisions of Motor Vehicle Act and an amount of Rs 55,000 will be recovered from the offenders.
