KATRA, Oct 28: Wrestler Rubaljeet of Khanna (Punjab) Patha Mukesh Pahelwan clinched the 43rd Annual Bann Malpur Dangal Title by defeating Wrestler Abdul Gani of Mallerkotla (Punjab) in a very tough fight that lasted for 9 minutes.
The mega historic and famous one day wrestling event was organized by Bann Malpur Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the supervision of Sarpanch Babishan Singh and Vice-President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Ram Paul Sharma.
In all 102 bouts were played in the one day long Dangal. Ex. Minister and Senior Vice-President of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee Sham Lal Sharma was the chief Guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes among the winners and runners-up Wrestlers. Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function.
Retired SP and Treasurer J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Prithvi Raj Sharma, Social Activists and Wrestling Promter Ram Paul Sharma and Om Parkash (Retired ACD) were the guests of honour.
The first main bout (Ist malli) Winner Rubaljeet was cash awarded with Rs 80,000 while runner-up Wrestler Abdul Gani was cash awarded with Rs 70,000 by Sham Lal Sharma, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Sarpanch Babishan Singh.
