JAMMU, Sept 12: Government Degree College, Billawar organized a Declamation Contest on topics “Un-Employment: Cause of Social Recession, Economic Development and Environmental Implication, Use of Non-Conventional Energy Resources for sustainable Economic Development, Social Networking: Boon or Bane and Student Counselling: Road to Success”, in which 13 participants took part.
On the occasion, Dr Vikas Gupta, SDM Billawar was the chief guest and Sudesh Kumar Gupta, Chief Engineer (MES) was the guest of honour.
The participated students spoke eloquently and threw light on various topics of social, ecological, economical and environmental problems affecting the society and their remedial measures.
The first prize was bagged by Rukshana Azmi, student of BA Part-II, while second and third prize were secured by Manika Sharma a student of BSc Part-I and Rajat Sharma, a student of BSc Part-II respectively.
The Jury members were NS Jasrotia, DFO, Billawar, Prof Hitesh Basotra and Prof Amit Kumar Sharma, who adjudged the performance of the participants.
Dr Vikas Gupta stressed that the student community should work hard to achieve their ambitions in life and remain focused in achieving it.
Sudesh Kumar Gupta said that the only key to success is hard work and students should work hard in this direction.
Principal Dr BL Gupta, threw light on the burning problems of un-employments, Environmental issues and social networking.
The anchoring of program was done by Surbhi Pathania and Divyanshyu Goswami.
At the end, Prof Sunita Devi, presented vote of thanks.
