UDHAMPUR, Jan 20: Rumour of recruitment drive to be conducted by Territorial Army (TA) led to protest by youths here today.
Hundreds of youths hailing from different areas of the district assembled at Granai Lota to participate in the recruitment drive to be conducted by Territorial Army (TA) yesterday, police official told here.
He said that the recruitment drive to be conducted by the Territorial Army (TA) was just a rumour and later the police pacified the youths, who later dispersed.
Meanwhile, around four hundred youth assembled at Indira Chowk today and started marching towards DC Office to lodge their protest, official said.
He said that the police intervened in the matter and pacified the agitators.
When contacted SSP Ashkoor Wani told that there was no notification of the recruitment drive by Territorial Army (TA) in the district and all this was just a rumour.
The youth held protest today, but were pacified, he added.
