DODA , Mar 28: In its efforts to maintain and strengthen the atmosphere of peace and communal harmony in the District, a run for peace and communal harmony was today organized from Dak Bunglow to Police Line Doda by District Police Doda under Civic Action Programme (CAP).
Deputy Commissioner Doda, Bhupinder Kumar flagged off the run and was the chief guest on the occasion. He along with SSP Doda, Z.N Manhas, CEO Doda, A K Sharma and CMO Doda, Dr Yaqoob Mir were prominent among other District Officers who took part in the run, besides students, CRPF and Police participated in the peace run.
Mohd Shabir of Government Higher Secondary School Chinta secured the 1st position in the run, while as 2nd and 3rd positions were bagged by Jawaz-ul-Rehman of Government Higher Secondary School (Boys) Doda and Rakesh Kumar of Government Higher Secondary School Dessa respectively.
While speaking on the occasion DC Doda said that such athletic events helps in diverting the attention and energy of youth in constructive activities, besides keep them away from the social menaces prevailing in the society.
SSP Doda, Z N Manhas while welcoming the participants in the event said that District Police will strive for confidence building measures and will leave no stone unturned for maintaining the peaceful atmosphere in the region .
Later-on, a cheque amounting to Rs. 96150 as a contribution of JKP Doda favouring District Red Cross Society Doda was handed over to DC Doda (Chairman DRCS Doda) by SSP Doda on the occasion.
