JAMMU, Dec 13: With an objective of creating awareness among the people about the benefits of saving water, second Big Jammu Run -Run to Save Water would be organized on January 8 at Gulshan Ground Gandhi Nagar.
This was informed by Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary while addressing a press conference here today.
The Communication and Capacity Development Unit (CCDU), Department of PHE, is supporting the event, keeping in view, that the aim of this organization is to build a behavioral change among society which results in reduction of loss of water, control and prevention of contamination and enhancing water quantity, enriching water quality and assuring water prosperity in a sustainable manner.
Minister of State for PHE, I&FC Farooq Ahmad Andrabi, Secretary to Govt, PHE, I&FC Department Sanjeev Verma, Chief Engineer, PHE Sushil Aima and Executive Director CCDU Rajiv Malhotra were also present on the occasion.
After releasing the special anthem of Jammu Run, the Minister appealed the youth of the State to come forward and take part in this ‘Run for Saving Water’. It is the responsibility of every citizen to save water for future generations, he added.
It was informed that participants would be awarded through a lucky draw on the day of the Run.
