SAB discusses review of Audits

Srinagar, Oct 12: A meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir State Advisory Board was held here today in which review of the Audits conducted by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India last year was taken and the audits to be conducted next year were discussed.
The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) is auditing various departments next year including working of Jammu and Kashmir Board Of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) that was in news for sale of question papers.
The other topics and departments that have been proposed for the Performance and Thematic audit during 2016-17 were discussed in the meeting. The CAG is conducting the Performance and Thematic audit of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Rural Mission (JNNURM), Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology (SKUAST), Kashmir, Collection of Toll Tax in J&K, JK Power Dev Corp, JKPDC (PSU), Follow up Audit – Implementation of Irrigation Schemes, Modernization of Judicial Infrastructure in the State, System in the State for Collection for Arrears of Revenue, Construction / Reconstruction of Bridges in Jammu & Kashmir, Working of Government College of Engineering & Technology Jammu (GCET-Jammu), Human Resource Management in Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Procurement in Power Development Department, Working of Sheep/Goat Breeding Farms in J&K, Investment Promotion Schemes / Measures, Management of lending and fund management against the RBI’s prudential norms by the JK State Financial Corp, Sales Tax on Liquor, Audit of Compliance of Scheme Rules 2011 (MG-NREGA as per the Act of 2005). The CAG is also conducting the Transaction audit of 1080 DDOs during 2016-17.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Huvyda Abbas, the Accountant General (AG) Audit and was attended by members of Advisory Board including Dr.Ashok Bhan, BL Razdan, Farooq Ahmad Peer, Fayaz Bukhari, Anil Sharma, Autar Krishen Bhan, K Subramanium, Accountant General (A&E), Ritika Bhatiya, DD RTI, Teg Singh, VK Bakhshi, DD Verma and Veerji Bhat.
