KATRA, Oct 28: 40th Baan Malpur Kesari Vishal Dangal 2013 was organized by Bann Malpur Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling association, under the overall supervision of president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Sarpanch Baan Babishan Singh at village Baan Malpur in Bhalwal, today.
115 bouts were played wherein local wrestlers from Doda, Udhampur, Jammu, Kathua, Reasi, J&K Police besides wrestlers from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi participated.
Former Minister and senior Congress leader, Mula Ram was the chief guest on the occasion who gave away cash prizes to the wrestlers.
The first main thrilling bout was fought between wrestler Sabba Patha Padarth Pahelwan of Amritsar in Punjab V/s Wrestler Rubal Jit Singh (Bharat Kesari 2013) of Alamgir Akhara in Punjab. The bout remained undecided which was fought 28 minutes both the wrestlers were given Rs 1,00,000 by the chief guest Mula Ram, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Babishan Singh.
In the second main bout Wrestler Benia of J&K Police beat Wrestler Sunil of Haryana and received a cash prize of Rs 31,000, while runners-up wrestler Sunil got Rs 20,000.
