Jammu, Nov 17: Sacred Heart Public School at Purkhoo Camp is organised two performances by artistes from Lucknow and Varanasi during Annual Day function of the school.
In the first performance of the evening, Sitar prodigy Master Sankalp Mishra from Lucknow and Tabla prodigy Kumari Avantika Maharaj from Varanasi presented a one-hour Sitar-Tabla Jugalbandi in the genre of Hindustani classical music.
Sankalp Mishra is a 13-year-old Sitar prodigy from Lucknow. He belongs to the 8th generation of Banaras gharana of Hindustanic music.
Sankalp has been conferred with the title of Vadya Bhushan by the Founder-Guru of the Art of Living Foundation, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Maharaj.
On the Tabla 13-year-old Kumari Avantika Maharaj from Varanasi performed. Avantika is the grand daughter of legendary Tabla maestro, Padmavibhushan Pandit Kishan Maharaj ji. She has come here along with her illustrious father Pandit Pooran Maharaj ji who is himself a World renowned Tabla maestro.
In the next performance Kathak prodigy Kumari Srija Biswasfrom Varanasi presented a Kathak recital.
Finally, the students of Sacred Heart Public School presented their host of performances. Many important dignitaries and artists graced the programme with their presence.
