Sacred Heart Public School holds programme

JAMMU, Apr 22: Sacred Heart Public School (SHPS) in collaboration with Visakhapatnam-based Tarakeshwara Foundation and in-house Jammu Music Academy organized Hindustani Tabla concert which was led by senior artiste Neeraj Verma and his disciples from Jammu.  Manipuri dance performance was also performed by Priyanka Talukdar from Kolkata in the programme.
Former Director of All India Radio and the erstwhile Radio Kashmir Jammu, Vijay Sambyal, popularly known as Rangeeley Thakur was the chief guest on the occasion.  Major Yuvaraj, his wife Aiswarya and Major Nitesh Mishra were among the prominent guests present on the occasion.
Tabla artiste Neeraj Verma showed his percussion skills when he played teental in vilambit, Madhya, and drut laya in succession. He was accompanied by his disciples, Vasu Pratap Singh on the harmonium, Karan Veer Singh and Shubham Sambyal on the support tablas.
In a first ever full-course Manipuri dance performance was also presented by Kolkata-based Priyanka Talukdar. She danced her way to the hearts of a large audience. Most of the compositions were choreographed by her Guru Poushali Chatterjee. The evening session concluded with a medley of School children’s dance performances.
