JAMMU, Sept 6: A sacrilegious act has taken place in Keran area of Bantalab, which irked the people, who held protest at Bantalab Chowk by blocking the road.
Hundreds of people from Bantalab and surrounding areas assembled at Bantalab Chowk and blocked the vehicular movement on Jammu-Akhnoor highway for couple of hours over sacrilegious act in the poultry farm of Babbu Gujjar in Keran area of Bantalab.
On getting information, police rushed to the spot and tried to pacify the protestors but failed. Later police used teergas shells and also cane-charged the protestors to disperse them.
Heavy police force has been deployed in area to control the situation.
However, no arrest was made in this heinous crime when last reports were compiled.
