Sadhotra for developing scientific temper among students

JAMMU, Dec 15: Minister for Planning and Development Ajay Kumar Sadhotra today called for developing scientific temper among the students from the initial years of schooling, saying this is imperative for placing them in good stead in the technological era.
Speaking at annual function ‘Rendzevous’ of Jodhamal Public School at Channi here this afternoon, Minister said that in the fast developing and competitive world, the youngsters have to maintain the pace with changing times.
“For this the role of teachers and the educational institutions becomes imperative”, he said and stressed the need for close monitoring by parents about the healthy upbringing of their wards. “Close cooperation between parents and teachers therefore assumes significance”, he add.
While Sadhotra was chief guest, Additional Director General of Police, SM Sahai was the guest of honour. They were given rousing reception by the Reception Committee led by Trustee Vikrant Kuthiala and comprising of Arti Kuthiala and Principal Trilok Singh Bist.
The young Einsteines and curies of science and environment club of Jodhamal Public School had placed on display models related to various aspects of space and environment. The purpose of this science exhibition was to produce a platform for the creative and innovative students. The highlight of the exhibition was the floating solar system and the ISRO Shim Hirakata-complex.
On behalf of the management, the speakers including Trustee said that Jodhamal Public School always believes in a policy for all round development and promoting consciousness about contemporary issues among the young students.
Earlier, the Rendezevous proceedings commenced with the welcome address by Head Boy Devansh Suri.
Rajesh Puri, Commissioner Central Excise and Customs, Mr Ajit Kumar Sahu Depuy Commissioner, Sirinivasan, Mr Rajesh Kumar, Inspectors General of Police and Mr Garib Dass DIG, were among those present in the function.
Later, the Minister distributed prizes among the best performing students.
