Sadhotra inaugurates children summer workshop

JAMMU, June 8: Member Legislative Council, Ajay Sadhotra today inaugurated a month long children’s summer workshop at K.L Saigal Hall being organised by Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL).
Joint Director Information, Jammu, Soujanya Sharma was the guest of honour.
Additional Secretary, Divisional Office, Savita Bakshi and Special Secretary (Retd), T.R. Sharma were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the workshop, Ajay Sadhotra expressed satisfaction over the functioning of the Academy saying that such programmes are directly connected with the development of overall personality of the children. He suggested that besides theatre, dance and painting, there should also be a workshop on importance of all local languages to acquaint the children with their mother tongue.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Soujanya Sharma appreciated the role of Academy for holding such innovative workshop. He said that such events help in proper utilization of vacation period of the children besides giving them a break from regular studies thus refreshing their mind anew.
Mrs. Bakshi highlighted the importance of the workshop especially for the school going children of the specified age group. She said that Academy holds this programme every year with a motive to develop personality of the children besides having an interaction with other children.
The children will be given basic knowledge in various disciplines like dance, theatre and painting by prominent personalities like Sudhir Mahajan, Bhupinder Singh, Anil Tickoo of the Academy.
