Sadia, Falak of Caset Experimental School win RBI Quiz

SRINAGAR, July 16: Sadia Haneef and Falak Naz of Caset Experimental School, Karan Nagar won the quarterfinals of the first ever RBI Quiz Competition, here today.
They will now be competing in the Zonal finals of RBIQ to be held at New Delhi in the month of August.
31 teams from different schools of Kashmir Province participated in the pre-quarterfinals of the tournament.
Out of these, six teams that reached the quarterfinal stage included Srinagar British School, Nowgam Bye-pass, J&K Sainik School, Manasbal, Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Ganderbal, SP Higher Secondary School, MA Road, Scholars School, Badshah Nagar, Natipora and Caset Experimental School, Karan Nagar.
Speaking on the occasion, KK Saraf, Regional Director of RBI for J&K said that the RBIQ was being organized with an objective to create awareness and interest about the history and role of RBI, about banking, finance, other banking institutions, economics, current affairs, personalities and events that have contributed to the growth and progress of the country over the years.
He also said that RBIQ is being held at 44 locations across the country and Srinagar has been chosen as one of the locations this year, while it was conducted at Jammu last year.
The dignitaries who attended the programme included Mushtaq Ahmad, Chairman and CEO, J&K Bank, Farooq Ahmed Shah, District Development Commissioner, Srinagar and Prof Shaheen Altaf, Principal, Government College for Women, MA Road, Srinagar.
Gautam Bose, nationally renowned Quizmaster, conducted the Quiz in his inimitable style and kept the teams and the audience glued to their seats throughout the programme.
KK Saraf and Prof Shaheen Altaf gave away the prizes to the winners and all the quarterfinalists at the conclusion of the Quiz.
