JAMMU, Mar 29: Safran CC trounced Mehboob Cricket Club (MCC) by 94 runs in the league match of the ongoing Under-19 Cricket for Excellence, being played at Country Cricket Stadium Gharota, here today.
Batting first, Safran CC made 242 runs by losing all wickets in 44.1 overs wherein Surya Udhay Singh made 37 runs, while Ansh Khajuria scored 31 runs and Aman Rajput and Saqlain Mushtaq contributed 23 and 29 (unbeaten) runs respectively. Lakshya also made 30 runs off 37 balls. From the bowling side, Arush got 4 wickets, while Aakrit Raaj took 3 wickets and Shah Raja, Manoj Kumar and Vishal Khadka took 1 wicket each.
In reply, MCC bundled out at 148 runs wherein Nishant Kumar made 41 runs, while Rohan and Aakrit Raaj scored 17 runs each and Arush contributed 16 runs. From bowling side, Aman took 4 wickets, Surya Dev bagged 2 wickets and Saqlain, Agastya, Surya Udhay Singh and Arun Leggy took shared 1 wicket each.
The tournament was earlier inaugurated in presence of invited dignitaries including Sukhdev Singh District Sports officer, Jasvir Singh Bhau ZPEO, Vikrant Sharma, Vivek Sharma and Sarthak Khoda, while the tournament was organised and managed by Country Cricket Club and Safran Cricket Club wherein four team including Safran CC, Mehboob CC, Jammu Strikers and Elite Sports Club are participating.
