Sagar asks youth to avail benefit of self-employment schemes

SRINAGAR, Sept 19: Asking the youth to avail the maximum benefit of various self-employment schemes launched by the Government, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar has said that by doing so they would be creating self-employment avenues for themselves as well as others, which would go long way in creating employment opportunity to the youth of the State.
The Minister was speaking at an awareness camp organized by Entrepreneurs Development Institute (EDI) at Peerwari, Khanayar in old city Srinagar today.
Director EDI, M. I. Parrey, senior officers of various departments EDI were also present.
Mr. Sagar said that the Government has launched various schemes by which the prospective entrepreneurs can get maximum monitory assistance besides other logistic support for setting up of their units which would go long way in arresting the global problem of unemployment by providing the much needed employment opportunities to the youth of the State. He said that by doing so the youth would also be contributing their bit in socio-economic upliftment of their respective areas.
The Minister said that the schemes like SKEWPY launched by the Government have tremendous potential for providing the youth avenues for setting up their own small scale industrial unit and they should avail maximum benefit out of it. He said that the schemes like NMDFC have been specially started by the Centre for the minorities and the rate of interest under the scheme is very minimal besides other incentives as well.
It is pertinent to mention that EDI has been designated as a nodal agency for various schemes like SKEWPY, NMDFC, YSLS (Youth Start up Loan Scheme), FCFS(Feed Capital Fund Scheme) which have a tremendous potential for ensuring that the youth of the State can setup their own income generating units and other related activities.
