POONCH, Nov 26: Series of programmes organized by National Development Foundation with support from Ministry of Culture, Government of India and in collaboration with District Police Rajouri and Poonch concluded here today.
On the occasion, SM Sahai, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed was chief guest.
Chief functionary, National Development Foundation Rajiv Khajuria in his address informed that two workshops of two days each were held at Himalayan Education Mission Rajouri and Government PG College Poonch wherein budding artists were given training in traditional folk, art and culture and two major programmes, one at conference hall Dak Bunglow Rajouri and one at Government PG College Poonch were held to promote the traditional folk Art of Rajouri and Poonch.
About 100 youth participated in the workshops in both the districts, he added.
Mr Sahai said that the way training in traditional folk art and promotional programmes were organized will revive the rich traditional folk art of Rajouri and Poonch and will develop and preserve it for the coming generations.
He termed the people of Rajouri-Poonch literary and patriot and hoped that their support with Police and administration in maintaining law and order will continue.
Earlier, the welcome address at Rajouri was presented by Mubassir Latifi SP Rajouri while vote of thanks at Poonch was presented by Shamsheer Hussain, SSP Poonch.
Among others present were Jhonny William DIG Armed Jammu, Danish Rana DIG Police Rajouri-Poonch range, Talib Hussain, Ex MP, Mohammad Aslam, Ex MLA Rajouri, Tassadiq Hussain, senior Congress Leader, Shafqat Mir, president, Youth National Conference, Yogesh Sharma, district president BJP, Sanjay Raina Advocate, Vinay Misri and Nisar Ahmed.
