JAMMU, Mar 16: Sahil Bhalwal scored magnificent 82 runs as Accountant General Jammu XI and Survey of India defeated their rivals convincingly in the semifinal clashes today to sealed berth in the finals and will lock horn against each other in the summit clash at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, tomorrow.
In the first semifinal played today, Survey of India defeated Prasar Bharti by a big margin of 67 runs.
Batting first, Prasar Bharti scored a decent total of 153 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Subash was the top scorer with 46 runs, while Sanjeev Sharma contributed 34 runs to the total. Dalbir Sodhi and Shashi Jamwal also chipped in with 18 runs each. For Prasar Bharti, Suresh took 3 wickets, while Rajesh and Girdhari claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Prasar Bharti bundled out at 86 runs. Ravinder Singh scored 31 runs, while Rajesh Singh contributed 23 runs to the total. Sanjay Koul also chipped in with 12 runs. For SoI, Shashi Jawal and Labi Ram took 3 wickets each, while Maheshwar Singh took 2 wickets. Skipper Sanjeev Sharma and Raina claimed one wicket each. Sanjeev Sharma of Survey of India was declare as the man of the match.
In another semifinal, Accountant General Jammu defeated Intelligence Bureau Jammu by 74 runs. Accountant General Jammu rode on a splendid knock of 82 runs by Sahil Bhalwal and scored a good total of 180 runs in 20 overs, losing 3 wickets. Sahil hit 11 fours and 2 sixes in his innings, while Bandeep Singh made 34 runs, hitting 4 boundaries and Aditya Partap contributed 30 runs. Ravi Raina also chipped in with 12 runs.
In reply, Intelligence Bureau managed to score 106 runs to lose the match by 74 runs. SP Bhagat, Rajinder, Anil and Pushpinder contributed 17, 15, 11 and 10 runs to the total respectively. For Accountant General Jammu, seasoned campaigner Ashwani Gupta, Rahil Singh and Sahil Bhalwal took 2 wickets each, while Anoop Mangotra and Prakash claimed one wicket each. For his all-round display, Sahil Bhawal was adjudged as the man of the match.
The match was officiated by Shashi Jamwal and Atul Sharma as umpires, while VK Bakshi, DAG Cum Secretary and Sham Lal, Chairman Sports Committee CGEWCC Jammu witnessed both the semifinals.
