JAMMU, Dec 24: SAI triumphed over the experienced J&K Police team with a 68-57 to advance to the finals of the ongoing J&K Senior Basketball Championship at MA Stadium. The tournament is organized by the J&K Basketball Association under the aegis of the J&K Sports Council.
The match was closely contested until the third quarter when SAI’s superior conditioning helped them edge out the police team. Iqbal Singh, the key player for J&K Police, was effectively neutralized by Aryan Sharma, which proved to be the turning point.
In the other semi-final, Jammu district defeated Udhampur district by 84-71 to set up a final clash with SAI Jammu tomorrow. In the women’s category, Jammu District emerged as champions, with STC securing second place and Reasi finishing third.
The games were officiated by referees including Manoj Kumar, Vaneet Pangotra, Rajesh Bandral, Harpreet Singh, Amanjot Singh, and Jaskirat Singh. The championship continues to deliver exciting basketball action as teams compete for the coveted title.
