JAMMU, Feb 8: Sai Shyam Educational Society, Ghou Manhasan, Jammu celebrated its Foundation Day with pomp and show in the school premises here today.
The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Chairman of the College, CL Tickoo and Principal of the College, Dr Usha Tickoo and other staff members.
Dr Usha Tickoo threw light on the historical background of the Society and its achievements.
While lavishing praise for the people involved in running the institution, Dr Tickoo said that the main objective of establishing the Society was to impart education to the masses of rural area.
Earlier, Anita Ganjoo, Principal of Sai Shyam School presented welcome address and highlighted the achievements of the school.
The vote of thanks was presented by Heena, staff member of Sai Shyam Public School, while the proceedings of the programme were conducted by Rupali, student of 9th class.
It is pertinent to mention here that the foundation of Sai Shyam Society was laid by its President (CL Tickoo) and Patron (Dr Usha Tickoo), besides other members with the establishment of Sai Shyam College in 2002-03 and Sai Shyam School in 2004.
