JAMMU, Mar 28: An annual inter-college debating contest on “Participation of Women in Politics is the only solution for their Socio-Economic-cum-Educational Development” was organized by IQAC of Sai Shyam College of Education, Ghou Manhasan, here today.
Khem Lata Wakhloo, Chairperson Social Welfare Board, J & K State was the chief guest and declared the contest open in an impressive and well attended function.
Earlier, the chief guest was received by the Principal of the College, Dr Usha Tickoo, guests and the staff members of the Institution.
The participating Colleges included Gandhi Memorial College of Education, K C College of Education, K C Gurukul College of Education, Hill People College of Education, N S M College of Education, R M College of Education, Sai Shyam College of Education and Vishwa Bharti College of Education.
Prof Sarla Kohli, Former Principal GGM Science College, Jammu and Prof Nancy Handoo NIT, Jammu were the judges on the occasion.
In her address, the chief guest praised the College Management and Staff for their stupendous task of raising the College to present status within the short span of time.
The chief guest was presented memento by Dr J L Raina, Academic Advisor, IQAC.
The Principal presented mementos to the judges and the chief guest gave away prizes to the winners and the participants.
Meenakshi Kotwal of V B College of Education and Meenkashi Koul of K C College of Education bagged first and second prize respectively.
Ranju Kumar from Sai Shyam College of Education and Rajnandni of Gandhi Memorial College of Education shared third prize. The consolation prizes were given to Amit Gulati from Hill People College of Education and Harshleen Kour from R M College of Education.
Prof Rajni Koul anchored the programme and Prof Meena Gupta presented the vote of thanks.
