Sai Shyam organizes Programme on Yoga

JAMMU, Nov 22: To bring awareness among the students and general public about the benefits of yoga and develop their aesthetic attachment towards yogic exercises, the Adult Education Club of Sai Shyam College of Education Ghou-Manhasan, Jammu in Collaboration with Bhartiya Yog Sanasthan, Jammu, organized Lecture-cum-Demonstration Programme on Yoga, here today.
Satya Pal Sharma, president and Mahavir Gupta, patron of the Bhartiya Yog Sanasthan were the main resource persons, who were accompanied by yoga experts Anil Sharma and JP Puri.
Earlier, the dignitaries were received by C L Tickoo, Chairman, Principal and Staff members of the College.
In her welcome address, Dr Usha Tickoo, Principal of the College expressed her immense pleasure for the concern shown by the Bhartiya Yog Sanasthan Jammu is organizing the programme so as to make students aware about the importance of yoga. She also welcomed the adults living in the vicinity of the College who were present during this event.
Mahavir Gupta in his deliberation explained in detail the importance of Yoga for children and Adults. He also explained the role of Assan, Pranayam and Dayanm in development of complete personality.  The experts also demonstrated various Asanas during the Programme.
Over 200 students attended the Programme with enthusiasm and vigour.
The 10th Edition of College Magazine “PRAGAASH” was also released by dignitaries on this occasion.
Lecturer of the College, Babita Tickoo presented the vote of thanks.
The Programme was anchored by  Hari Krishen Kichloo, Lecturer.
