JAMMU, Oct 2: Sainik School Nagrota held a function to appoint cadets for this academic session at the School Auditorium, here today.
The event was held in the school campus in physical mode after a gap of two years. A special ceremony was conducted in which Captain (IN) AK Desai, Principal and Lt Col Meena Joon, Adm Officer and Officiating Vice-Principal pipped the meritorious cadets as School and House level cadet appointments.
The new School Cadet Captain, Cadet Alok Sengar has the distinction of being an academic topper, athlete, a wall climber and a debtor. He has also been part of the victorious NCC marching contingent at Republic Day Parade Jammu, while Cadet Ayush Pratap Singh of Class XII was appointed as School Band Captain, Cadet Harshdeep Singh as School Sports Captain, Cadet Arnav Chalotra as School Mess Captain, Cadet Udhay Mottan as School Cultural Captain.
The new house appointments include Junior as well as Senior House Captains, House Vice Captains, House Mess, Cultural and Sports Captains of Trikuta, Chenab, Sindh and Jhelum Houses.
The highlight of this year’s ceremony was that the saga of awarding parchments to School cadet appointments which was pioneered by the founder Principal Cdr NN Seth stood revived as current Principal presented a distinctive replica of the same as a testimony of recognition to the cadets.
The second acme was that since the induction of girl cadets in Sainik Schools from 2021, Girl prefects were appointed for the first time in the School as Cdt Nema Kunzts, Cdt Anvi Mahajan, Cdt Angel Choudhary and Cdt Simran received their appointment tabs.
The chief guest emphasized that they must be unbiased in dealing with the fellow cadets and set exemplary standards of discipline for others to emulate.
