JAMMU Sept 4: Sajad Sadeeq of Government Degree College (GDC), Thanamandi claimed gold in the Inter-Collegiate Cross Country (Men) Championship, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, here today.He completed the race in 54 minutes.
The silver medal went to Angrez Singh of Government Degree College Udhampur and the bronze was claimed by Santosh Kumar of GGM Science College, Jammu by completing the race in the 57.01 minutes and 58.02 minutes respectively.
Lida Singh was the chief guest who flagged off the race in presence of Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice-Chancellor JU, Prof Dhian S Bhau, Director Sports and Physical Education, Jammu University, Jai Kumar Sharma, OSD to the Vice-Chancellor.
The race was conducted under the technical supervision of Nirmal Singh, Athletic Coach.
Among others present on the occasion were Romesh Sharma, PTI Campus, Dr Sonam Angchok, Dr Vinod Bakshi, Mahesh Sharma, Mandeep Singh, Narayani Jamwal, Balbir Singh, Ajaz Malik (Physical Directors), Dr Brij Baloria, Ramesh Magotra, PD Singh, Raj Kumar, Dr Rajinder Lal, Sanjeev Jamwal and Nisha Sharma and SR Dubey, Security Officer.
Meanwhile, the Cross Country for women would be conducted at 7am at the same venue tomorrow.
