Sakina calls on Union Ministers

NEW DELHI, Dec 21: Minister for Social Welfare Sakina Itoo called on Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Krishna Tirath, here today and discussed the implementation of various Centrally sponsored schemes in Jammu and Kashmir and the problems being confronted by it due to the delay in the release of funds.
The Minister, while apprising the Union Minister about the progress achieved under Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), SABLA and IGMSY, pleaded for timely release of funds for the effective implementation of these schemes and to ensure that the benefits reach to the targeted lot.
In another meeting with Minister for Tribal Affairs, V. Kishore Chandra S Deo, Ms. Sakina Itoo apprised that the State is facing problems in   implementation of  schemes  due to the release of funds under Tribal Sub Plan and Article 275(1) of Indian Constitution at the fag and end of the financial year.
She informed the Minister that the State Social Welfare Department has already submitted an action plan worth Rs. 36.92 crore under TSP and Article 275(1) of Indian Constitution well in time but funds are still awaited. She expressed her concern about the delay in the release of funds and pleaded for early release of the same to enable the State to take up works in far flung   areas.
After the discussion, both the Central Ministers assured timely and sufficient release of funds.
