Salal Power Station warns over water level of Chenab

JAMMU, June 18: NHPC Salal Power Station (690 MW) in Reasi district has cautioned that the Chenab river water level in the upstream and downstream areas of the dam can increase or decrease at any point of time during the month of June’2022 to October’2022 , which is likely to cause unexpected high waves of water in the river.
In view of this, general public and local residents have been requested to be cautious & careful and not to go along the river Chenab and also keep the cattle away from the banks of the river and do not try to cross the river from any unprotected places or mediums, said a statement, issued today by the NHPC Salal Power Station.
In this regard, people have also requested to be vigilant and safe while paying special attention to the sound of “sirens” being played as a warning before leaving the water from Dam and also requested to follow the instructions written on the “Warning” board installed at various places by Salal Power Station.
