Salma Rashid retains 4th International Sqay Masters Cup

Dignitaries felicitating winners of 4th International Sqay Masters Cup.

SRINAGAR, June 18: Sqay player Salma Rashid made the Valley proud by retaining the 4th International Sqay Masters Cup for third consecutive time.
Sakeen and Irfan Rangraz also lifted the titles in both girls and boys categories respectively held at Sports stadium Pahalgam.
The winners will now have been selected to participate in the International Sqay Championships scheduled to be held at Malaysia, Iran and Georgia.
While congratulating the winners, President of Sqay Federation of India, Dr Bashir Ahmad said that these players have brought laurels to Kashmir by wining the medals.
“We have identified the land for International Sqay Academy in Kashmir and very soon the work on this proposal will commence”, he informed.
The time will come when foreign teams will visit Kashmir to take part in coaching in this academy and we are hopeful that Government will help them for developing this International Sqay Martial Art Academy, Dr Ahmed added.
In the championship, 80 participants including male and female participated and exhibited their talent, he added.
Later, Dr Ahmed flanked by other dignitaries awarded the winners of the championship.
