NEW DELHI:Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, much-awaited Bajrangi Bhaijan is all set to release today in 5,000 cinema screens globally.
Directed by Kabir Khan, the film is the story of an Indian man on a mission to take a mute girl lost in India back to her home in Pakistan. The film is latest in the line of Salman ‘s Eid releases after Wanted, Dabangg , Bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger and Kick.
The film is to simultaneously hit more than 5,000 screens globally, with 4500 being in India only. The film will release in approximately 50 countries outside India, and more than 700 screens abroad.
From North African countries to the smallest towns in India, the movie will be distributed far and wide. It includes the four major international markets ? the US, UK, UAE and Australia having nearly 450 screens.
Trade experts say that a tremendous buzz around the film, which also features Kareena Kapoor, would lead this flick to emulate the success of Salman’s earlier Eid releases with heavy advance booking across the country. According to the experts, there has been a heavy rush for advance booking for the film, being produced by Salman Khan productions, at multiplexes and single-screens across India. Distributors say that the tickets for the first week have been almost sold out.
The film, Salman Khan’s first mega-venture as a producer, also features Nawazuddin Siddiqui, with Khan playing the title role.
In Delhi-UP area, the film is set to release in 300-350 screens. Even in a state like Punjab, where advance booking does not draw much of a response, the pre-booking for the film has been huge.
Known trade analyst, Taran Adarsh says. Expectations from Bajrangi Bhaijaan are humongous, mainly because it is releasing on Eid, and brings back the combination of Salman Khan and Kabir Khan after the successful film, Ek Tha Tiger in 2012.
”If the movie gets a wide release in India, as well as in the international markets, it only goes to prove that the film is piping hot among the audience, distributors and exhibitors,” he said.
For the cinegoers, it is going to be double delight this Eid. First, Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan is hitting the screens; and second, the movie will also showcase the trailer of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-awaited Bajirao Mastani.
The Bhansali directed multi-starrer film is scheduled for December 18 release. Ranveer Singh, and Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra play lead characters in the film. Singh plays the role of the Maratha Peshwa Bajirao, Deepika will be seen as the warrior queen Mastani, and Priyanka plays Bajirao’s first wife, Kashibai. (UNI)
