JAMMU, June 25: Second consecutive half-century by Abdul Samad and magnificent fifties by Pranav Gupta and Rhytham Mahajan helped Patel Cricket Club to thrash Provin Cricket Club by a big margin of 122 runs in the ongoing KC Sports Club T20 Cricket Cup 2017, being played at newly laid turf at KC School ground, here.
In another match, Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor crushed Champion Cricket Club in an easy contest by 8 wickets.
The Tournament, in which 20 teams including some Clubs affiliated to JKCA are participating, is being organized by KC Sports Club, under the overall supervision of Arjun Chowdhary and the matches are being supervised by Sanjeev Sharma, oragnising secretary.
Earlier, in the first match played today, Patel Cricket Club defeated Provin Cricket Club by a huge margin of 122 runs.
Winning the toss and batting first, Patel Cricket Club scored a huge total of 212 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 3 wickets in the process. Abdul Samad, Pranav Gupta and Rhytham Mahajan were the main contributors with 69, 67 and 50 runs respectively. For Provin Cricket Club, Rajesh, Suman and Rohit took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Provin Cricket Club bundled out for a paltry total of 90 runs, thus lost the match by 122 runs. Suman and Kapil were the only batsmen to cross double figure mark, scoring 16 and 15 runs respectively. From Patel Club, Abhishkek Abrol took 3 wickets, while Abhinav Puri bagged 2 wickets.
The second match was played between Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor and Champion Cricket Club. Champion Cricket Club won the toss and collapsed at 59 runs in 14 overs. Munna top scored with 29 runs, while Akshay chipped in with 12 runs. From Singh Cricket Club, Sunil Kumar and Sonu Malhotra took 3 wickets each, while Vinay and Rajinder claimed 1 wicket each.
Singh Cricket Club in reply chased the target in just 6.4 overs by losing 2 wickets to win the match by 8 wickets. Sonu Manhas and Sunny Mahi contributed 25 and 16 runs to the total respectively. Shubam was the only successful bowler from Champion Cricket Club, taking 2 wickets.
