JAMMU, Dec 29: Riding on magnificent 83 runs by opening batsman Abdul Samad, Jammu and Kashmir thrashed Odisha by 8 wickets in the 63rd National School Games Under-19 Boys Cricket Tournament, being organized under the auspices of School Games Federation of India (SGFI) at Indore in Madhya Pradesh.
Batting first, Odisha scored 133 runs in stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. J Janmanyu scored 61 runs. From J&K, Amir, Sampark and Muneeb claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, J&K surpassed the target in 8.2 overs. Samad scored brisk 83 off 51 balls, studded with 12 fours and 2 sixes. Junaid also contributed 32 runs to the total.
