Samba lifts kho-kho U-17 boys title

Divisional Level Inter-District Tournament concludes

JAMMU, May 24: District Samba outplayed district Udhampur by 3 points in the summit clash to win the kho-kho under-17 boys title in the Divisional Level Inter-District Kho-Kho Tournament, which concluded at Youth Hostel Nagrota playground, here today.
The under-14 boys kho-kho title went to district Udhampur by defeating Reasi by a narrow margin of 3 points.
Earlier, in under-14 semifinals Udhampur got better of Doda by 5 points (9-4), while Reasi trounced Samba by 4 points (6-2).
In under-17 boys semifinals, Samba thrashed Reasi by 13 points, while Udhampur scripted a narrow win by one point over Doda.
The tournament was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the chairmanship of SS Bali, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu and under the overall supervision of Tirath Ram, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jammu, who distributed trophies, mementoes and certificates among the winners and runners-up teams on the occasion.
Other results: Under-14 boys kho-kho: Udhampur trounced Poonch by 5 points, Reasi outclassed Rajouri by 8 points, Samba prevailed upon Kishtwar by 6 points, Doda beat Ramban by 4 points and Reasi won narrowly against Jammu by one point.
Under-17 boys kho-kho: Kathua registered a narrow win over Rajouri by one point, Doda defeated Kishtwar by 3 points, Jammu drubbed Ramban by 12 points, Samba trounced Poonch by 7 points and Udhampur got better of Ramban by one point.
