SAMBA, May 28: Samba Police led by Inspector Sanjeev Chib, SHO P/S Samba under the supervision of Joginder Singh, SSP, Samba, Faisal Qureshi, Additional SP, Samba and Varinder Singh, Dy. SP HQ, Samba busted interstate gang of thieves by apprehending two accused persons Vikram Mehra S/o Tarsem Lal R/o Sarore Adda and Tariq Hussain S/o Amanant Ali R/o Purmandal Morh, Bari-Brahmna and recovered 10 stolen motorcycles on their disclosure.
Police said on March 23 one Varinder Kumar S/o Kasturi Lal of Ratnu Chak had lodged a complaint with Police Station Samba that his motorcycle has been stolen by some miscreants while he had come to Industrial Growth Centre, SIDCO Samba. In this connection a case FIR No. 90/2015 u/s 379 RPC P/S Samba was registered and search of stolen vehicle/ accused persons was started.
Police said SI Khalil Ahmed, I/C PP SIDCO, Samba while naka checking traced the stolen motorcycle of Varinder Kumar being used by the two accused persons. Police arrested both of them on spot and stolen vehicle was retrieved. During sustained interrogation, both the accused persons broke down and on their disclosure 10 stolen motorcycles have been recovered. The modus operandi of accused persons to commit theft was that they used to stole motorcycles outside the marriage halls and banks and then sell them in other areas. The gang was operating in Gangyal, Greater Kailash Jammu and Pathankote area, police added.
More recovery on the disclosure of these accused persons cannot be ruled out, police said.
