Samba Police file challan against 8 notorious thieves

SAMBA, Sept 1: Police here have produced a challan in the court against eight notorious thieves and receivers of the stolen property in connection with a theft case involving construction company NH-44 “MCCS Infra Pvt Ltd.”
The accused individuals against whom the challan has been presented in the court for judicial determination are Umesh Pangotra, Manish Khajuria, Randeep Singh, Varinder Sharma, Sawan Manjotra, Rahul Manjotra, Joginder Paul, and Manohar Lal, all from various areas in Samba District.
The case originated from a written complaint lodged by one Rakesh Kumar Dubey, the HR Manager of the construction company, on June 30, 2023, regarding the theft of iron plates from the construction site.
Subsequently, a case under section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Samba via Police Post Supwal, and an investigation was initiated. During the investigation, the police apprehended eight suspects and recovered the stolen items.
Following the completion of the investigation, the police closed the case and presented the challan to the court, as the offense had been proven against these eight individuals involved in theft and receiving stolen property.
The investigation was conducted by ASI Balbir Kumar, under the supervision of SHO Police Station Samba Rajeshwar Singh, DySP Garu Ram and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
The investigation in the case was overall supervised by SSP Samba, Benam Tosh.
