SAMBA, Mar 15: An interaction meeting with the next kins of police martyrs was held today at district Police Lines Samba by officers of district police on the directions of Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP, Samba,
On the very onset all the martyrs’ family members along with staff visited Martyrs Gallery here and paid homage to the martyrs.
According to the report, the interaction meeting was chaired by Vipan Chandran, Dy.SP, DAR DPL, Samba in which 14 families of police martyrs of district Samba participated. Dy. SP, DAR Samba welcomed all the family members.
All the family members were assured that the Police Department is a family and always ready for all kinds of possible help to the families of martyrs who had sacrificed their lives for the sake of nation.
The grievances put forth by the family members of police martyrs were listened by the Dy.SP, DAR, DPL Samba who is also the Nodal Officer for the “Savera Scheme” launched by the PHQ in this regard and assured them that the grievances will be shared with the concerned quarters for further redressal.
It is pertinent to mention here that out of 20 families of martyrs in district Samba, legal heirs of 18 families have got employment under SRO-43, whereas the cases of remaining two families are under process in GAD for further formal orders. During the interactions certain families demanded adjustment of SPOs of the families to the nearby Stations, help for upgrading bank details and transportation of kids from schools etc.
Moreover, some of the concerns like writing off or reduction in pending electricity bills and the cases pertaining to pending pension arrears etc. They were assured by the officers that these issues will be taken care of and taking up with the concerned quarters.
