SAMBA, Sept 14 : With an aim to strengthen Police-Public relations and to create awareness among the masses particularly among student community, District Police Samba today organized District Level Quiz Competition at Bhargava College, Samba, here.
8 teams of different Government/Private Colleges of District Samba participated. Dr Koshal Sharma, Additional SP Samba elaborated the aims and objectives of organizing competition, while SI Ashish Choudhary and SI Meenu Sharma carried out the proceedings of the competition. The Quiz was held in 2 rounds in General Knowledge and General awareness for screening of the teams.
Israr Khan IPS, SSP Samba was the chief guest while Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Samba was the guest of honour on the occasion. Munish Anand, Dy.SP HQ, Samba, Ravi Kant Sharma, Dy.SP DAR Samba besides students and teachers of different institutions were also present during the competition.
While speaking on the occasion, Israr Khan IPS, SSP Samba said that organizing such Civic Action Programmes by the Police is to create awareness among the masses particularly students regarding the social evils and evil designs of the anti-social elements. He impressed upon the student community to focuss attention on their studies to get desired results for their better future.
Abhinav Sambyal and Vikrant Sharma of Govt. Degree College, Samba secured 1st position while Arunima Sambyal & Richa Gupta of Bhargava, B. Ed College, Samba got 2nd position and Jatin Kohli & Raman Vikas of Adarsh College of Education, Bari-Brahmna secured 3rd position. Besides, certificates, trophies and cash prizes were distributed among the winners by the Chief Guest Israr Khan, SSP and Addl. Dy. Commissioner, Samba. Principal Bhargava College, Samba as well as the guest of honour have also praised the initiation of such Competitions to boost the morale of budding students. The scores of the competition were compiled by Inspector Raj Kumar Padha and SI (Computer) Manoj Gupta.
