Samba police on the directions of SSP Samba, Dr.Abhishek Mahajan, has launched vigorous drive against illegal mining and transportation of minor minerals across district Samba and seized one Excavator and eight Tractor-Trolleys which were being used for illegal transportation and mining of the construction material.
Police also seized illegal construction material dump of 75 Metric Ton in Ghagwal area.
A police team of PS Ghagwal along with DMO Samba paid surprise visit to the stone crushers and mining blocks established on the bank of Bai Nallah and seized one excavator bearing engine No. 84637317 at Anjali Stone Crusher for illegal mining and also seized illegal dump of 75 Metric Ton, police said.
It said acting on an information received from reliable sources regarding illegal mining of sand from Basantar river-bed Samba, a police team of PS Samba seized two tractor-trolley having registration number JK21F-1024 and JK21E-9020 for illegally extracting and transporting sand from the river bed.
A Police Party of PS Ramgarh while performing patrolling duty, seized three tractor-trolleys with Registration No. PB41B/9415, JK02AA/0390 & JK21G/9759 for illegally transporting/mining of construction material, police added.
Purmandal police seized one Tractor-Trolley having Chassis. No. WWCN45605149704 for transportation of construction material (sand) without any valid permission.
Mansar police post while performing routine vehicle checking duty at naka Point Mansar, seized one Tractor-Trolley having Registration Number JK21G/8896 for carrying construction material (sand) without any valid permission.
Later in another similar incident, a police party of PP Supwal seized one tractor-trolley without Registration Number for illegal transportation of construction material.
All the vehicles seized by Samba police in the above mentioned incidents have been handed over to Geology & Mining Department, Samba for further action.
