Samba police slaps PSA on 3 hardcore criminals, arrests heroin supplier

SAMBA, Mar 21: In a significant move to combat criminal activities and drug trafficking in the district, Samba Police under the guidance of SSP Samba, Vinay Kumar, has apprehended three hardcore criminals under the Jammu & Kashmir Public Safety Act (PSA). These individuals, identified as Kunal Teji, son of Rakesh Kumar of Ban Talab tehsil and district Samba, Devinder Singh alias Deepu, son of Ashok Singh of Kehli Mandi, Samba at present Rakh Amb Tali tehsil and district Samba and Sourav Singh Nagra, son of Sham Lal of Chak Salaria, tehsil Ramgarh district Samba, were involved in multiple criminal cases, posing a serious threat to public peace and tranquillity.
Following their repeated engagement in criminal activities, detention orders were issued by the District Magistrate Samba based on detailed dossiers prepared by SSP Samba. The police teams, led by SHO PS Samba, Sandeep Charak and SHO PS Ramgarh, Jaswinder Singh executed these warrants, leading to the incarceration of the accused in District Jail Kathua and District Jail Jammu respectively.
Police said with an aim at curbing the illicit drug trade, Samba Police detained a notorious heroin supplier, Abdul Habib alias Bheem son of Maon Din of Ladana tehsil Ramnagar district Udhampur at present Badheri, Nanak Chak tehsil and district Samba, under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PITNDPS) Act. Abdul Habib, known for spreading drug addiction within the community, was swiftly detained and confined to District Jail Kathua following the issuance of a detention order by the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu.
This successful operation marks a significant step towards ensuring the safety and well-being of the public and signifies Samba Police’s resolute stance against narcotics trafficking in the area.
