JAMMU, June 26: On the occasion of its Silver Jubilee Celebration, Samooh Theatre organised various programmes at Abhinav Theatre, here today.
Pt Sukhvir Sharma , Chief Patron All India Brahmin organisation New Delhi was the chief guest while Sohail Kazmi, Senior Journalist presided over the function.
A play ‘Bhagwan Parshuram’ written by Pritam Katoch and directed by Ravinder Sharma, besides, a documentary based on the contribution of the Samooh Theatre in literary and cultural field made by Heeramani Singh and voice over given by Rita Yusaf was also screened on this occasion.
The function was also graced by the dignitaries including Ramesh Kichloo, National President, All India Brahmin Organisation, New Delhi; Sanjay Saraf, National Youth President, lJP; Dr Agnishekher, a prominent Kashmiri leader and cultural activist; Mohan Singh, President Duggar Manch; DK Kohli, MD DK Films; Rajesh Gupta, ex Principal Spring Blossom School, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu and Tarun Uppal, member Anna Hazare Core Committee.
Those who were also felicitated on the occasion included Parneesh Mahajan , Chairman, NSM Group of Colleges; Dr Sanjeev Gupta, HoD Ortho, Govt Medical College Jammu; Sanjeev Kumar, Director Sheep Husbandry; Manoj Pandita, SSP J&K Police; Karuneesh Gupta,Vice President BJP Cooperative Cell; Rajeshver Singh Raju, a theatre Critic; Satish Kumar, Business entrepreneur & social activist and Shakher Sharma, famous Cartoonist.
Earlier, Dr Sudhir Mahajan, Founder Samooh while welcoming the guests shared his views about the 25 years journey of Samooh.
He also threw light on newly formed women wing of Samooh at Purkhoo Migrant Camp, being run by social activist Anita Chandpuri.
Anita Chandpuri also gave a detail of activities conducted by the women wing of Samooh.
The programme was anchored by Kusam Tickoo, while the vote of thanks was presented by Dr Kamal Sharma, President Samooh.
