JAMMU, Feb 26: Samooh Theatre organized a ‘Play reading’ of the play ‘Saah-Basah’ in Dogri, written by Dr Gian Singh, today at K L Saigal Hall, Cultural Academy, Jammu.
On this occasion, Mohan Singh, noted Dogri playwright and poet was the chief guest while Kumar A ‘Bharti’ a prominent Theatre Director and play wright, presided over the session.
After the play reading, the invited gathering asked various questions from the playwrights regarding the structure of the play, theme of the play and its relevance in the present scenario. The play Wright Dr Gian Singh while replying the queries of all, gave a justification of all the characters in the play and role played by them.
The play teases at the politicians who use people as their puppets and these puppeteers are the culprits. The play-Wright at the end of the play, wishes to stop this game of hate and communal tension through the characters portrayed by him and the ‘Sutardaar’ as well that we should forgive the offenders and forget the past.
Earlier Dr Kamal Sharma, president Samooh, welcomed the guests and the audience.
Dr Sudhir Mahajan conducted the proceedings of the programme and also presented formal vote of thanks.
