JAMMU, Jan 1: Samooh Theatre today staged a famous Nukkad play ‘Sanklap’ here at village Makwal in the Marh constituency of Jammu district.
The play depicted various social problems through the scenes aesthetically designed in the theatre format. Issues like addiction among young generation, illiteracy a curse , dowry system a clot , importance of women empowerment, environment preservation , female feticide a stigma in the society and other burning issues were highlighted through the play.
The village audience appreciated the performance of each actor and rendered applause on every scene of the play.
Earlier, Dr Sudhir Mahajan, director of the play, shared his views and said that objective of performing the Nukkad shows in the villages was to sensitize the masses to change their life style and think about protecting environment in their surroundings. He said the health is natural gift bestowed by the God and nurtured, save and protect it with the healthy life style so that they could be able to elevate their soul and the society as well.
The artists who mesmerized the audience with the intense acting skills were Sudhir Mahajan, Ravinder Sharma, Bimmy, Usha Sharma, Sandeep Thakur, Avinash Lakhnotra and Mohan Lal.
Gulzar Singh Sarpanch of the Panchtyat, appreciated the efforts of the team in organizing such Nukkad shows, which not only entertain the audience but also aware the audience about themselves and their surroundings.
The play was staged with the support of North Zone Cultural Center Patiala, Ministry Of Culture, New Delhi.
